Chena Hot Springs

From Fairbanks we drove over to Chena Hot Springs for the day. At Chena they have a geothermal power plant, green houses, the Aurora Ice Museum and the Hot Springs. Everything inside the Museum (tables, bar stools, bed, igloo, sculptures, etc) was made of ice and kept at a temperature of 25 degrees. There was even an xylophone made of ice that actually played. They gave us big parkas that we could use during the tour to keep warm. After touring the Museum, powerplant and the grounds, we spent about an hour swimming in the hot springs pool.
