BWCA 2006
Fish
These are a selection of fish pictures. Of course the 30+ inch Musky that I got up to the canoe got away before it could be photographed. I caught (or at least had close enough so I could identify them) one Musky, a couple dozen small Northerns, a couple Blue Gills, a couple dozen Rock Bass and probably 5-6 dozen Small Mouth Bass, the largest had to be about 4-5 pounds. Most of the Small Mouth Bass were in the 1.5 to 2.5 pound range. This was by far the most successful fishing I have ever had in the BWCA in the 20+ years we have been going up there. Although I lost a lot of tackle because I was not expecting to encounter such large fish, it was my greatest fishing experience to date. All but a half dozen Bass were immediately released. We did have 2 meals of fresh Bass filets for dinner. Click on any of the thumbnail pictures to see an expanded view.
