Big Sur Jade Beach

These are a collection of pictures taken at a beach near Plasket Creek just north of Gorda, CA where during our Western Bicycle Trip in 2002 we found some "Big Sur Jade". The beach was entirely covered by rocks about the size of baseballs in 2002. This year (2007) when we went back, mild winter surf resulted in the beach covered by sand. We found a couple small pieces of "Jade" in the sparce rocky areas above the high tide level. Click on any of the thumbnail pictures to see an expanded view.
