Grand Canyon Caverns

These are a selection of pictures taken at the Grand Canyon Caverns. The Grand Canyon Caverns are located on old Route 66 about 25 miles Northwest of Seligman, AZ. These caverns are unique in that they are dry caverns. The tempereature is a constant 56 degrees with a humidity of about 6%. During the height of the cold war, the caverns were designated as a bomb shelter and because of the low humidity and constant temperature, the food provisons stored in the barrels shown are just as fresh as when they were placed there 50 years ago.
