Grand
Canyon Caverns
These are a selection of pictures taken at
the Grand Canyon Caverns. The Grand Canyon Caverns are located on old Route 66
about 25 miles Northwest of Seligman, AZ. These caverns are unique in that they
are dry caverns. The tempereature is a constant 56 degrees with a humidity of
about 6%. During the height of the cold war, the caverns were designated as a
bomb shelter and because of the low humidity and constant temperature, the
food provisons stored in the barrels shown are just as fresh as when they were placed there 50 years ago. Click on the thumbnail pictures to see an expanded view. Use your browser's
