Pools

These are a selection of pictures taken of the various pools we encounter in the park. "Thermophiles (heat-loving microorganisms) create the different colors in the pools where hot water is found. Colorless and yellow thermophiles grow in the hottest water. Orange, brown, and green thermophiles thrive in cooler waters. Click on any of the thumbnail pictures to see an expanded view.
